2. Subscription and Payments

Access to Calot requires a paid subscription. By subscribing, you agree to pay all fees in accordance with the pricing displayed in the app. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. You can manage and cancel your subscription through your device's App Store settings.

Prices are subject to change. Any price changes will be communicated in advance. Refunds are handled in accordance with the App Store's policies.

3. Data Ownership and Storage

You retain full ownership of all data you create within the application. All personal data (age, weight, goals, food logs) is stored locally on your device using SwiftData and is never automatically synced to our servers. We are committed to protecting your privacy as outlined in our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for backing up your data if desired, as uninstalling the app will result in permanent data loss.

4. Disclaimer of Warranties

The app is provided "as is" without any warranties, expressed or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of harmful components. While we strive to provide accurate nutritional information through our AI-powered analysis, we do not guarantee 100% accuracy or completeness of the nutritional data.

5. Health and Medical Disclaimer

Important: Calot is not a medical device and is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. The nutritional information provided is for informational purposes only. We are not responsible for any health or dietary decisions you make based on the app's features or content. Always seek the advice of your physician or other qualified health provider with any questions you may have regarding your diet or health.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Calot and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:

• Your use or inability to use the app
• Any health or dietary decisions made based on the app's features or content
• Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data
• Inaccurate nutritional information
• Loss of data due to app deletion or device loss
• Service interruptions or downtime
• Any other matter relating to the app

7. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the security of your device
• All activities that occur on your device
• Backing up your data regularly
• Ensuring your use of the app complies with applicable laws
• Not using the service for any illegal purpose
• Not attempting to gain unauthorized access to our systems
• Not interfering with or disrupting the service
• Not reverse engineering the app or API

8. Third-Party Services

Our service uses third-party providers for AI processing and subscription management:

• Perplexity AI - For nutritional data lookup
• OpenAI - For food entry parsing
• Superwall - For subscription and paywall management

By using Calot, you acknowledge that your food entry text may be processed by these services in accordance with their respective privacy policies.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Users will be notified of any changes via in-app notifications and/or by updating the "Last updated" date on this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
